Alan Kessler became the CEO of Thales e-Security following its acquisition of Vormetric. At Thales e-Security, Kessler is responsible for leading a world-class team of data security professionals in its mission to be the undisputed leader in data protection and digital trust management. Kessler joined Vormetric in 2012 because he firmly believed the company had the potential to be a data security front runner. During his tenure, Kessler accelerated Vormetric’s business momentum by expanding the company’s global footprint, targeting untapped market opportunities and achieving operational excellence.
Kessler has a proven track record of directing global corporate strategy and operations for security, enterprise software and storage systems leaders such as HP, TippingPoint (a division of 3Com), Attune Systems and Palm, Inc. Prior to joining Vormetric, Kessler served as VP of Worldwide Sales and Service for HP's Enterprise Security Products where he was responsible for worldwide customer and partner success. Previously, as CEO of TippingPoint, he led the business through a stage of unprecedented growth, increasing market share at a rate of four times the industry average.
In addition to serving on Vormetric’s board, Kessler is an independent outside member of Legato Capital Management’s board of directors. He holds a bachelor's degree in business from San Jose State University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
